Abilan, Buenavista – The new and permanent Commission on Population-Caraga office building at Butuan-CDO National Highway, Abilan, Buenavista, is all ready for inauguration on October 22, 2018.

POPCOM Caraga Director Alexander A. Makinano disclosed that the construction was carried out from January until September this year, which was made possible through the lot donation of LGU-Buenavista by Hon. Mayor Norbert B. Pagaspas; budgetary allotment provided by POPCOM Executive Committee through Executive Director Juan Antonio A. Perez III; and perimeter fence built by DOH-Caraga through Regional Director Jose R. Llacuna, Jr.

The good director further revealed that for 22 years, POPCOM Caraga was able to transfer its office for 7 times.

“Believing in the premise that having an own permanent building would be the best symbol of the organization as an advocate of a well-managed population size, growth and distribution.” Makinano accentuated.

Said blessing and inauguration will be attended by Deputy Executive Director Lolito R. Tacardon, and other senior official from POPCOM central office; Hon. Mayor Norbert B. Pagaspas, and local program partners from both government and private sectors, including media.

Upon transfer to its new and permanent office building, the agency also donated plenty of office tables, chairs, air-conditioning units, and other materials to LGU-Buenavista and Agay National High School teen center as way of support in the effective implementation of various population programs at the local level.

Buenavista Municipal Administrator Felix Balansag gladly revealed that the equipment are of great help in his office and of the mayor.
