The Commission on Population and Development – Caraga together with its partner agencies, administers family planning demand generation and service provision to the remote communities of the municipality of Jabonga and Santiago, Agusan del Norte on February 1 – 5, 2021.
POPCOM Caraga, Sibog Katawhan alang sa Paglambo also known as SIKAP, DOH Center for Health and Development Caraga, and the Rural Health Units of the said municipalities conducted demand generation and service provision of Modern Family Planning in remote areas in the municipality of Jabonga and Santiago.
During the first day of the service delivery, the agencies visited the remote barangay of San Vicente, Jabonga to deliver family planning information and services to mothers and individuals who wish to avail themselves of different family planning services and commodities.
35 mothers were present during the activity. 9 new acceptors and 5 reinsertions of Intra-Uterine Device implant, 2 acceptors of Progesterin Subdermal Implant, and 5 mothers availed the free pap smear test.
Deliabeth Dalubatan, 27 years of age and a mother of 3, expresses her gratitude to the agencies behind the activity in which she highlights how important family planning especially during this health crisis.
Information Education and Communication materials such as Leaflets and flyers pertaining to responsible parenthood and family planning were also given to residents and mothers from San Vicente to provide additional information about the Family Planning program.
