The Commission on Population and Development Caraga (POPCOM – Caraga) is stepping-up in its campaign to remind parents and couples from different parts of the region to practice responsible parenthood and family planning especially in this time of COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement released by POPCOM-Caraga’s Regional Director Alexander A. Makinano, he said that pregnancy and childbirth during this crisis could add to the burden of the parents and couples.
Regional Director Makinano also worries about the birthrate spike during this pandemic that could lead to overcrowded hospitals and lesser medical attendants brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
