The Commission on Population and Development Caraga publicly announced Short Documentary Film-making Contest to create multi-sectoral appreciation and recognition of its thrusts for young people.
With the theme “How young people can help respond to the Covid-19 pandemic?” the contest is open for both In-school and Out-school Adolescent ages 15-19 years old. The Short Documentary Film must be shoot in the community where the contestants reside assisted by the Local Officials. Secondly, the film must be a maximum running of 7 minutes but not less than 5 minutes. The film must have an English subtitle. Lastly, the documentary films will become property of POPCOM Caraga as a communication material for the program.
The entries shall be submitted on October 26, 2020. Best Cinematography will receive a cash prize of 3,000.00. The first place will receive a cash prize worth 10,000.00 with a Plaque of Appreciation. The awarding of winners will be on November 27, 2020, via Virtual Awarding Ceremony.
Director Alexander Makinano highlighted that in this health crisis, adolescents should have an initiative and to know that they can help in mitigating COVID-19. He added that the contest is also an avenue wherein the adolescents can take a break from their modules on modular learning.
POPCOM Caraga together with Sangguniang Kabataan, population workers and volunteers continue serving adolescents, teachers, and Filipino families amidst this crisis.
